Ronnie Tan serves as the Regional Aquaculture Consultant – Southeast Asia for the U.S. Grains Council, a non-profit organization that promotes the use of U.S. barley, corn, sorghum and related products worldwide. In this capacity, Tan assists in the Council’s market development work related to aquaculture, including activity planning, coordination and implementation.
Prior to the Council, Tan worked as the vice president for Blue Archipelago, the largest integrated shrimp enterprise in Malaysia. In this capacity, he was responsible for the downstream operations and corporate strategy. Tan also previously served as the non-executive director for Regal Springs Group, the largest integrated tilapia company in the world, where he was a board member and held a supervisory role of the Indonesian legal entity.
Tan earned a degree in environmental biology from King’s College, University of London, UK and a master’s degree in aquaculture from the University of Stirling, Scotland.
Beter known to everyone as Chingling, Lourdes Roxas Tanco is Managing Director, President and Major shareholder of Mida Trade Ventures International Inc. and Mida Food Distributors, Inc. Mida Trade Ventures International Inc is a marketing and brokerage company specializing in seafood and other food-related businesses to represent major importers and end-users’ source or sell products to the Far East. Mida Trade represents 5 of the top 10 shrimp exporters on the USA and handles over 10 million dollars of shrimp purchases per month. Mida Food on the other hand focuses on the importation and distribution of frozen seafood to over 1000 hotels and restaurants in the Philippines. Chingling’s experience in the food industry includes her work as Managing Director of Berdex Philippines, and of PT AgraKon Permata Nusantram a joint venture between Berdex and a private Indonesian businessman. She was also Resident Country Director for ConAgra Indonesia. Today, Chingling is recognized as one of the respected experts and leaders in the seafood industry.

Dr Krishna R. Salin is the Chair of the Aquaculture Program at Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand. With over 27 years of active academic and industry experience, he currently serves as the President of the World Aquaculture Society Asian-Pacific Chapter (WAS-APC), and Honorary Director of NEDAC, an intergovernmental Network for the Development of Agricultural Cooperatives in Asia and the Pacific, based in Bangkok. Dr. Salin is also a Visiting Professor at Shanghai Ocean University in China and an Associate Editor for the Elsevier journal, Aquaculture Reports. His research focuses on cleaner aquaculture production systems, and hatchery and grow-out of fish, shrimp, and freshwater prawns. He has mentored numerous students and entrepreneurs who lead aquaculture research and business in Bangladesh, China, Ecuador, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Nepal, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam among others. He also offers customized training programs and consulting services to governments, researchers, and businesses worldwide, based on the AIT's Sustainable Asian Aquaculture platform. He brings his rich industry experience and insights into tropical aquaculture production systems and markets for the success of SAC 2024.

With a Master's degree in Biology and an Engineering diploma in Agriculture and Aquaculture, Maxime Hugonin brings over a decade of diverse experiences. From Canadian salmon farms to Asian shrimps ponds, Maxime has honed his expertise across continents : Americas, Africa, Europe. After five first years in Asia as technical and marketing Aquaculture manager for Virbac, he joined MiXscience, an Avril group’s company, in 2018 as Aquaculture product manager and business developer. Currently, as General Manager of Mixscience Asia, he is in charge of the aquaculture business development in Asia with a focus on alternative solutions. Thanks to his background Maxime combines technical knowledges with strategic insight to drive the industry growth through sustainable farming practices and innovative solutions.
Chiow Yen Liew is currently the Regional Marketing Manager for Aqua in Greater APAC , where she leads and drive the development of performance solutions for DSM aqua nutrition. Key focus area include life time performance through optimum nutrition and gut health, mycotoxin risk management, digestibility, reducing reliance on marine resources and antimicrobial use. Together with the team, she works to deliver innovative performance solutions to support product quality, extended shelf life, consistent colour and optimal nutritional values. Key works includes providing innovative solutions to reduce environmental footprints of phosphorus and nitrogen, improve water quality for sustainable aquaculture production and making efficient use of natural resources through the use of enzymes.

Since 2015, Keone has been a part of the AQ1 Systems team, collaborating with customers globally. Her expertise helped farmers in the region successfully adapt to this new technology, resulting in improvements in feed efficiency, growth rates, and shrimp health.
